The message that is reflected in this image is that life is like a road that leads us to a certain direction when we choose to take it. The road here is a straight road which somewhat makes it easy to travel but you can only see as far as your eyes can. You are never sure what lies ahead. Life is like this, we have to choose our goals and head in that direction. The visual techniques emphasized the road which is the focal point of the image by using a grayish colour for the road in contrast to the colourful fields, sky and trees. The lines on the road helps the viewer see the direction the road is heading. The rough texture of the yellow fields brings out the image of the smooth textured road. These visual techniques not only capture the attention of the viewer but make the message clear.
Strong response Chaim. Others reading this, please note that Chaim has not only discussed the message that the artist is trying to send, but also included techniques that have been used to make the image effective. Also...I realize that if you make a spelling mistake - you are given a "heads up"...which should help with everyone's speling! (spelling!)
I think that the visual tries to show you how one road looks simple enough to take. Its almost to good to be true, but if you decide to see what lies ahead, you can be surprised. Just as Chaim said, you can only see as far as your eyes can. So when i see this picture, I am intrigued to see what lies ahead. A road cannot just be as simple as that, but that does not mean that a road has to be rough, hard, and stark. One road cannot just be one road, a road can lead to other roads, and other paths, and routes. Sure it can all be too much, or confusing. Which is why some people can think to give up, or take a little stop. But, the thing is, what is life when you're stopped, and don't know where to go? We all tend to stop, or we find we need to rest, but that doesn't mean that where only in one place or stuck. A road can lead you to a place, or other places, thats why i think life is so full of surprises and thruths to understand. Experiences can lead to wisdom, never fate. Like how the road is a focal point, its centre, but something, in my opinion makes me want to look to the side a bit, and see whats there. You see beauty. And yes, life is full of beauty, and sometimes life, can be a stark cold wasteland in the middle of nowhere. Though this is seen by many. Life can also lead back to beauty, or your own paradise. You may think that life is a wasteland, or isn't worth living sometimes, but through time and time again, you will know, and learn to get through those dull points in life, and make everything to how you want it. Life is yours. And Maybe there will be other voyagers to travel, journey with you. But maybe you will depart to separate paths along the way. That doesn't mean you have to trip either, even if you do, you can get back up. And if your hurting and scarred later. That'll just make you stronger. So venture out, and sore. Seek it out, because Ye' Shall Find. Their is no Final Destination, take your journey. And find your own way. This is what i feel from this picture, from the lighting of the entire ordeal, to the texture of the trees, flowers, and pavement of the road. The road looks like it has streaks going up and down from how we look at it, maybe it's a meaning of how life can be continuous in way that things can move straight forward. If you look closely, you'll see that there looks to be a up/ and downward slope/ ramp in the seeing distance. I take this as the road being changed, and made to go up, and down, cause that how the world can be as well. Their are peaks and valleys like mountains, and you can meet them. As i have said, though, this can teach you. You can learn to climb, learn to climb yourself out of a valley and onto a peak. But what then? You can fly. The skies you see in the visual look like they have trails along them. Met by other clouds that match the flowers with the feeling of softness, and comfort. The last but not least thing i'd like to say is that the way the picture is shown. It's as if you are standing there, in the middle of "Nowhere". But you're observing this miraculous sight. ANd it is you wondering, trying to make of the world, the life, the road ahead. You want to go forth, and forward. But i believe that you have to take the step unto/ into ahead of yourself. Maybe sometimes you just have to go with the flow, but then again, you have to go against the current a lot as well. Its Up To yoU. And it is you that is ready. YoU will not walk/ or fly alone though, you'll always have people with you. Sometimes you need a breath of fresh air, and see the sights. I know once in awhile someone can be one step ahead of you, but maybe then you can just take it slow. And you will find your own path. Full Speed Ahead. You know it, so go, and venture out into the world. Its your life, you gotta live it. It's certainly better than to stay and die. So go on and live, survive, heal, learn, push, fight, and live. Its what you make of it. That what i believe.
